Automotive and Transport Sector Flying High
The latest results of the LG Search Index have been released, and the automotive and transport sector was the big gainer for June, recording almost 90% more searches than for the same keywords in February. Most of the other sectors stayed fairly stable in May compared with their April results, with signs of life in the travel, tech, publishing and services sectors.

LG Search Index: House and Garden Everyone Makes a Run for the Garden!

On the sector search this month we’re taking a look at the household sector and seeing what’s moving fastest is the house and garden segment. The big story here is the rise of the garden furniture, which in May recorded three and a half times as many searches as in February, although the volume is still below household mainstays such as furniture and bathroom goods. The Great British Summer has apparently tempted the ever-optimistic Brits to search for such items as patio chairs, hammocks, tables and gardening accessories. On the other hand, searches for cleaning and maintenance products have fallen by fifty-six per cent in three months. Has the appetite for spring cleaning vanished with the first rays of sun?

However, the garden might have some competition this June, judging by the quiet roads and empty off-licences whenever an England game is on. Searches on the term ‘England football shirt’ recovered from a slight dip in April to post a large increase in May; and the June figure is certain to be higher still. This is however a short-term trend that on current form will end abruptly in the quarterfinals…
