Drum Roll Please

Here in the office we aren’t prone to blowing our own trumpets as we’re usually too busy getting asthma attacks from blowing our clients’ trumpets for the wonderful rankings we’re getting for them. But the downside of working in an extremely busy online travel marketing agency is that we often spend so much time working on our clients SEO we barely have time to focus on our own. Last month though, we decided that we needed to dedicate some major pampering time to our lovely little online travel marketing agency to devote ourselves to getting the credit we so richly deserve.
After doing some keyword research and trying to agree the best phrases to get ranked for, somebody commented in frustration, “You’d think for the smartest SEO agency in London we’d be able to agree which one is best!” It was a light bulb moment and suddenly we knew what we wanted to be number 1 for – yes, you guessed it “The smartest SEO agency in London.” After all, it described us perfectly, had the all-important SEO agency key phrase, and hey, it was a bit of fun!
Our boss loved the concept so much that he went out and had some staff t-shirts printed with the phrase “Smartest SEO Agency in London – verified by Google,” emblazoned across them – so no pressure!
We set out to get ourselves ranked by optimising a landing page on our site for the phrase and writing some Viral Links Articles and blog posts. SEO is pretty competitive, especially here in London, and although we are number 1 for a number of other phrases, choosing a brand new one was a little bit ambitious and experimental. Still, our heads are big enough and we have enough faith in our own SEO skills that we decided to give it a go and gave ourselves a couple of weeks to see some results.
Well it’s end of month time again so I need to get going on my monthly reports, so it’s head down for the rest of the day.
…Oh, by the way, did I mention we did it? And the t-shirts fit perfectly!

That seems fairly conclusive proof that your methods work!
