I’ve come across the term ‘301 redirects’ a few times now, in different contexts, sometimes to do with online marketing.  I’m a bit confused about what they’re for.  Can you guys clear things up for me?

A funny thing happened on my way to the internet this morning. I began typing a query into Google and paused halfway through. My search query had begun ‘Why do I’ and the auto-suggest feature in the search box finished my query for me with ‘Why do I sweat so much?”

Recently, I’ve been playing detective and trying to follow the process of ‘nofollow’ links. It does take a bit of detective work to find out if a link is ‘nofollow’ or not.  This is because you can’t tell just by looking at the page; you need to look in the page’s HTML code itself.
