At LeadGenerators we use Twitter to provide online marketing solutions for a number of our clients. We tweet, we display pictures and we point our followers towards websites and other online content that may be of interest of them. However, I can safely say that we’ve never used Twitter to hypnotise our followers, although this would certainly be an extremely successful way to build up interest in a particular holiday destination or product!
Hypnotising people via Twitter had never really occurred to us, but one successful hypnotist has already decided that Twitter is the perfect platform in which to showcase his talents. Smokers who want to quit should follow Chris Hughes on Twitter (@socialtrance) where he will use a form of neuro-linguistic programming, which should help his followers kick their addiction.
It might still be too early to see if anyone has been successfully hypnotised via Twitter. But the social media has already proved extremely successful among dieters following the “Tweet What You Eat” Program. This dieting programme not only provides a support network for hundreds of dieters tweeting everything that they eat and receiving encouragement or disapproval from their followers, but allows followers to add up all the calories that they’ve consumed throughout the day.
From hypnotising smokers to acting as a platform for dieters, it seems that there are no ends to this social media site’s talents.
