What I learnt when telling the story of 400 storytellers

Last month, I was asked by one of our clients, Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, to give a presentation at their Leaders’ Conference in Cambridge and talk about the online passion group that we have been building as part of our social media strategy for them. It was a presentation about how 400 of their customers had evolved over time into the most amazing storytellers.

Now those who know me from my seminars, will know that I LOVE giving seminars and that I LOVE teaching. But what most people do not know about me is that that larger groups frighten me. My mouth goes dry and my hands shake! So you can imagine the quiet panic that crept over me as I was waiting for my turn to step up to the stage.

However, something amazing happened. I quickly caught my breath and launched into a topic that I am absolutely passionate about: Passion Groups and how to build them.

And I quickly realised that passion conquers everything. Not only is passion the powerful ingredient that makes our social media campaigns so successful for our clients, but is even the powerful force that can make my public speaking demons melt like butter. Do they sell passion in economy packs?

Thank you to Ramblers Worldwide Holidays for helping me learn that lesson!
